So you have the Saxophone Archive, Volume 1, right? A gazillion pages of sheet music to play through. But you never get to hear what the music really sounds like. Sure, you can hire an accompanist, but they are few and far between and they can be expensive!

  • Wouldn't it be great to have a recording of the piano accompaniment that you could play on your home speakers?
  •  Wouldn't it be great to have midi files that you can load onto your midi keyboard so you can rehearse anytime you want?
  • Wouldn't it be great to hear what the music is supposed to sound like before you start working on it?


​If you've been asking these questions, well, it is time to GET EXCITED!


​At last, there is a collection of sound files to go along with the PDF files on the Saxophone Archive, Volume 1. Now you can play with piano accompaniment without having to fork over a pile of cash. Now you can finally play through your music at full tempo without having to listen to your accompanist complaining that it's "too difficult!"


This archive has only sound files. It is designed to work with the PDF files on the Saxophone Archive, Volume 1. The sheet music comes from the Saxophone archive and now you can get a personal accompanist with this collection. All of our Sound Files work on both PC and Mac. There are two types of files in this archive: 

1. MP3 Files - These files provide high quality sound and can be played by your computer, your home stereo system or even through your phone or tablet. 

2. Midi Files - These files are played with a midi player. A midi player can either be built in or connected to your computer. It can even be a standalone keyboard.


A lot, but not all, of the music from the Saxophone Archive, Volume 1 is included in this archive. Please scroll down to see a complete listing of the music included.


There are many different ways to play the music files in this archive: 

1. Play either the CD or the thumb drive on your computer and use your computer speakers or headphones for the sound. 

2. If your sound system has a USB port, you can play directly from the thumb drive.

3. Load the files to your phone, tablet or cloud. You can then broadcast the music via bluetooth or wifi to your bluetooth speakers or sound system.

4. Load the midi files onto a midi keyboard

5. Load the files onto your computer and play them anywhere using your home network.

6. You can play the files on a CD or DVD player, but only ones that can handle MP3 files. Test your CD or DVD player before you buy to see if it can handle folders and MP3 files.


These are just a few suggestions. Getting the music from the MP3 or MIDI files to your speakers is limited only by technology and your imagination. This is computer generated music rendered with high quality software that makes it sound like the real thing.


How to Use This Music

Each piece of music has two files. The first file is the complete recording with Oboe and keyboard. The second file is the keyboard alone without the Horn. Each version has identical tempos. Each duet has a complete recording and a recording of only the second part.


The Saxophone Quartets have 5 files for each piece. The first file is the complete quartet with all parts so you can hear what it is supposed to sound like. The other files have one of the parts missing so you can play along with whatever saxes you can get your hands on.


In addition to the regular collection, we have added some special music. To make playing through the more finger-twisting pieces a bit less stressful, we have slowed down the really fast movements of some of the pieces. We slow things down about 15%. Just enough to take the edge off but still fun to play. We have also included these same pieces at full tempo.

This archive is now available for digital download.  You can buy the digital download any time.  When you actually download the file, it will be huge.  It may take several minutes to download.  Only attempt to download the file when you are at home and have a solid and strong WiFi signal on a desktop computer.  Public WiFi is unreliable and will result in a corrupted file transfer.  Do not attempt to download to a smartphone.  Smartphones have problems with these large files.
