We started out editing and archiving music just for the clarinet. Over the years we have branched out to almost every instrument. We receive old boxes of music from musicians like you all over the world, so we are truly international! If you have an old box of music and would like it saved for posterity, please contact us!
Paper sheet music degrades over time and then ends up in the landfill. Our goal is to create a digital library of all instrumental music. Instead of storing it in one central location where it can be deleted at a whim (or mistake), our digital library is spread out amongst all the musicians who obtain our archives either through discs, thumb drives or digital downloads.
We have so much music in our free pdf archive that we've divided it up into categories. What kind of music are you looking for?

Many of our scores were either written or arranged by modern composers who have donated their music to the Clarinet Institute. Others featured in this archive are from pre-1925 music editions. These are all old enough to be out of copyright in essentially all countries. We can therefore distribute them on-line without royalty, and users can legally download them. They may not be distributed or sold. The date in parenthesis is the date of publication.
There are also many works by International Music Archives arrangers and composers. These are under copyright and may not be distributed without our permission.

The sheet music files are in Adobe .pdf document format. To view them, download the latest version of the free Adobe acrobat Reader. You can get it for free here
Contribute to the Archive
Do your part to help the archive grow. Music that was published prior to 1925 is usually in the public domain. If published prior to 1963, we can check to make sure it is in the public domain. If you have music like this and wish to share it with the clarinet community, just scan it, save it as a pdf file and email it to us. If it checks out as being out of copyright, we will post it.
